Purnama Kedasa is the celebration of the 10th Full Moon of the year, this event is celebrated in temples all around the island. What makes the 10th Full Moon so special? “you might say”. Well, the 10th Moon is very significant among the Balinese Hindus as the day correlates with a lot of Temples’ festivities and rituals, it is attended by thousands of devotees. Many temples celebrate this holiday each in its own way. There is something occurring on the preceding Sunday called a Melasti or a purification pilgrimage which has a parade holding certain temple objects and heirlooms to the Holy water.
