Spirit of Bali: Concept, Form and Texture

Finding key inspiration from the stunning backdrop of Bali, sculptor and veteran workshop-leader, Suzi Jorgensen, will assist participants to express their own individual style and focus in clay. Through structured design exercises, concepts will be developed, while several building strategies including large-scale coil building and 3D flop molding techniques will enable rapid execution of ideas. Likewise, surface decorating will be approached from several angles such as texture development and application of colored slips and oxides. This fast-paced workshop will cover a lot of ground in one action-packed week-- sure to leave participants amazed at their accomplishments and reeling with future ideas. Suzi Jorgensen has been a Ceramics TAFE teacher for over 20 years and has conducted over 65 Ceramic workshops all around Australia. (www susanjorgensenceramicsculpture.com)
